An Instant Classic and One of the Great Love Stories of Our Time

Andre Aciman's Call Me by Your Name is the story of a sudden and powerful romance that blossoms between an adolescent boy and a summer guest at his parents’ cliffside mansion on the Italian Riviera. Each is unprepared for the consequences of their attraction, when, during the restless summer weeks, unrelenting currents of obsession, fascination, and desire intensify their passion and test the charged ground between them. Recklessly, the two verge toward the one thing both fear they may never truly find again: total intimacy. It is an instant classic and one of the great love stories of our time.

I honestly have nothing else to add. It hurt me to finish reading the book. I was afraid to see the last period. From beginning to an end it felt like i was present in the moment in the memory. It is the first truly touching story about love of two men. Without a doubt, a must-read book.

Aciman beautifully captures the internal process of Elio as he comes to terms with falling in love with a handsome visitor to his family’s home in Italy. Elmo’s thoughts and feelings are captured with such detail and thoughtfulness and conveyed with a wonderful sense of poetry. Without a doubt this is one of the most expertly crafted narratives that I’ve ever read.

This is one of the most amazing books I have read in a long time. It was so raw and real. It has broken me but I would do it all again. I cannot explain to you how easily I fell in love with this book. The choice of words and the structure of the story is so perfect. It made me laugh, cringe, cry. All in all I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. I adore the story, characters, words. It is simply a beautiful piece of work.

I love it, it’s one of the best romance books I’ve read and the first novel I’ve read in general I can’t stop reading it but I don’t want to read it all in one day. I’m so excited about reading it, then watching the movie when it comes out.
